Job summary:

  • Analyze product performance using statistical methods to understand root cause and identify significant variances to the technical data packages

  • Perform analyses of nonconformities to identify root cause, establish effective containment, and develop/monitor corrective actions

  • Perform Supplier factory process walks and factory risk assessments

  • Perform reviews of supplier manufacturing instructions and processes to mitigate escape risk

  • Perform supplier TDP reviews and compliance comparisons to Raytheon Source Control TDPs

  • Assure clear identification, physical control, and competent disposition of nonconformities

  • Facilitate closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process quality

  • Facilitate Program Reviews, Supplier Reviews, and Technical Interchange Meetings

  • Analyze and approve proposed engineering, planning changes, test plans, and procedures

  • Participate in design reviews, process change reviews, qualification test reviews, as well as Test Equipment verification and validation

  • Provide problem resolution and guide continuous improvement activities at suppliers’ facilities.

  • Conduct Pre and Post Contract Award reviews to ensure compliance with Technical Data Packages

  • Review First Article Inspections to validate compliance to Technical Data Package and contractual requirements

  • Perform on-site Source Surveillance and Corrective Action reviews

  • Interpret quality requirements (Q-Notes) and make decisions on Q-Note application to procured production parts

  • Review Internal TDP change requests, Supplier change requests, and Supplier Statements of Work

  • Ability to travel as required by program needs (Approximately 50%)

  • Ability to obtain a current passport for international travel

Location requirement: The ideal candidate needs to live in the Tucson, AZ region and expected to travel locally and both domestic and international travel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Quality experience Including First Article Inspection reviews, Source Inspection, Acceptance Test Procedures, Quality Requirements, Supplier Assessments, development/usage of Quality metrics to drive true Root Cause and Long-Term Corrective Action

  • Experience reviewing schematics, work instructions, tool control, and Manufacturing Lean reviews

  • Experience using engineering principles and design analysis techniques

  • Previous experience working with external customers and/or suppliers

  • Experience reviewing Quality Control Plans

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems

  • Experience leading cross functional process improvement teams

  • Working knowledge of FAI Standard AS9102

  • Working knowledge of AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP

  • Working knowledge of AS9103 Variation Management of Key Characteristics

  • ASQ Certifications

  • R-Six Sigma, ACE, CORE Level 5 or higher Mission Assurance Certifications (internal candidates)

  • Proficient in the use of Pareto analysis, Cause & Effect diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams

  • Experienced in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Statistical Process Control methods and techniques

  • Experience working with external suppliers and inspection techniques

  • Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
