Artichoke and Bacon Ranch Dip Recipe (1)

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hidden Valley Ranch.

If I had to pick one type of appetizer that is a must for our holidays and get-togethers, it would be dip. I’ve been a dip fan since I was younger growing up with my mom was the primary dip-eater in our house. My mom loved potato chips with onion dip and it’s grown on me too. Last night we pulled together a quick dinner of sandwiches and paired them with potato chips and a basic onion dip (prepared with a dip mix).

While a quick onion dip works okay for a quick weeknight dinner, when I serve a dip for special occasions, I like one with a bit more style and flavor. One of my favorite dips is one with artichokes, bacon, and jalapenos. Not only does it include artichokes, which I love, plus I’m crazy about the spiciness and what’s better than a dip with bacon? You can’t go wrong.

But while the dip is wonderful and has great flavor, it also means that at least one of my kids, and anyone else who doesn’t like spicy foods, won’t eat it. To make a zippy dip that will work for everyone, I did a remake of my recipe by excluding the jalapenos and some of the other spices, but substituting a packet of Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix for them.

To do this yourself, you’ll simply combine the packet with a 16 ounce container of sour cream (which makes a pretty great dip all on its own). I usually do this right in the sour cream container, so I have one less things to clean, but you can mix it up in a bowl, if you prefer. In another bowl, whip the the cream cheese just a bit with a hand mixer and then blend in the ranch dip you’ve just created.

By hand, stir in the bacon and artichoke hearts, followed by the Parmesan cheese. Mix it all up and it’s done.

While I like hot dips, I like that this one doesn’t require me to keep it warm. So, I serve it cold, but if you wish, you could heat it up. You can also garnish the top with some additional crumbled bacon and shredded cheese. Serve it with sturdy crackers or toasted baguette slices for dipping…or scooping, if you are my husband.
